Rewilding Lawns

Home

This website is meant to provide information to people looking to add native plants to their yards in the state of Wisconsin. It is estimated that lawns are the single largest irrigated crop in America, covering an area of about 163,800 kilometers in the United States alone. Lawns contribute to rising carbon dioxide emissions by destroying natural ecosystems and allowing for massive water runoff when compared to a native landscape. One of the most important functions of native species is in their support of pollinators. Many people have started to make the change to more environmentally friendly lawns that sustain native species of both plants and animals.
